Empowerment is key. Students take ownership of design, building, programming, and strategic decisions. Mentors guide and teach, but the students drive the robot and the team's success.
From CAD design to competition strategy, every decision is made by our student leaders who learn to take responsibility, think critically, and solve complex problems independently.
From concept to competition, team members gain practical experience in engineering, coding, problem-solving, and teamwork, building skills for the future.
Our students work with professional-grade tools and software, learning real-world engineering practices that prepare them for careers in STEM fields.
Since 2020 the Ultrabots have grown from rookies into award winners. We have competed in seven seasons, earned the Rookie All Star Award in our first year and the Rising All-Star Award in 2025, and shown that a small-town team from Lake City can compete with anyone. Every season we push harder, learn faster, and bring in the next group of students to build something great.
